Finally got some paint on the desert rat.. I was going for a "no frills, get down to business" kind of look..


I laid out the graphics and a buddy cut it out of stencil vinyl for me.. So its all painted on the inside.. Which is good because within 2 minutes of mounting it, I flipped it on it's lid. :rolleyes:

Sweet looking ride man! Get enough of us turning these into SC trucks and maybe redcat will put one in the offerings at some point. How you like those trenchers? I love mine they hook up on all surfaces!

Thanks.. I did get some video while I was out.. Not much though.. I ended up stripping a gear. :( I'll see if I can put together a vid. :)
 
I am betting on the later version. It looks like the same fitment I got out of mine. Trim a little here and there. Anyone tried the other proline body for the 5T yet? just wondering about the fitment of that one. Kinda like its looks a little better. If they were not so darn expensive I would just order one and see how it fits.
 
So the Trofeo is longer then? is the wheel spacing the same and the length is in the front and back end or is it just stretched over all. I really like that body but if it wont work then I will spend the money on much needed parts inventory.

The Desert Rat is the body designed for use on the 5b with Proline's 5b to 5t conversion kit. The Trofeo is designed specifically for the 5t.
 
So the wheelbase is the same but the bumper to bumper length is longer on the 5t body, right? Or is the wheelbase of the Desert Rat body shorter than the wheelbase of the 5t body even though the chassis have the same wheelbase? People say the desert rat is too short for the 5b? The desert rat 5b body and excavators came out as a way to convert the 5b into a truck before the 5t was even released! So it has nothing to do with the 5t. So why would it be too short for the 5b if its for the 5b? And why would a body made for the long wheelbase 5b (which shares the same wheelbase as the 5t) fit the short wheelbase Rampage? See the confusion?
 
The Proline 5b-5t Conversion doesn't have the huge long bumper up front like the HPI 5t does. That allows the desert Rat body to be shorter.

Yeah, that body is almost perfect.. I'd like to figure out a way to get the front bumper in front of the body rather than behind it... I think that would look like it was meant for it..

They seem to do great! And they throw sh!t all over the place! :D
