The king of RTRs, Traxxas, makes RTRs that need 1 to 4 times their initial cost to be raceworthy and/or bullet proof. Most people have no clue when they buy a Traxxas that they could have spent less money and ended up with a better car if they had just spent more money up front for the car they didnt think they could afford. I have had many Traxxas products knowing how expensive they can be so my 4th 16.8 Emaxx I did the way I always wanted to................You'll like this one Ron E.


Parts that replaced stock Traxxas parts that I very easlily broke: Bug body, Aluminum Bulkheads, Big Bore Shocks, RPM True Track Rear, RPM Front Arms, Rpm Towers, Aluminum Chassis, Rpm Skids, Aluminum Diff Cups, Wheel CVDs, Driveshaft Dogbones, Aluminum X Brace.


Parts that brought performance: 17mm Hexes, Kershaw 750HO, RPM Bumpers, 17mm 6.3 Tires, 72t Nitro Rustler Spur, Associated Batt Trays.


Parts needed in the future: Center Diff, Lipo Cutoff.

looks great, flm chassis is nice. may be my next e-maxx purchase also.


your maxx is awesome, nice build.


e-maxx's are great, but money pit's till really upgraded... but aren't most rc's.


black 3908 maxx is now gone, traded for a xtm 1/6 w/asgard bodies.

the pile o parts in front of the white e-maxx is 3 times that big now... lipo's, maximizer beadlocks w/badlands, motor mount, etc... rtr money pit but I love it.


were going with the kershaws in my daughters e-maxx this summer, i've always wanted to try them.

Sorry to hear your case...My Slash has been great...until I ran it into a pole I never had any major expenditures other than replacing the stock motor with Velineon brushless.
 
I couldnt keep my slash together either. Blew off shock caps, broke chassis, broke plastic hubs alot, broke arms, stripped spurs, wore through the body, blah, blah, blah. I expect too much. If they had scrt10 then I would have got one. Much beefier but 4x4. I guess they don't make a beefy 2x4 you have to just fork over the money for aluminum, proline, and RPM.

That is the point , you can't buy a Traxxas as a kit and put on it what is good to start with. First you have to buy therir RTR and dropkick the POS radio and Servos , plus their lame XL5 speed control and the oh so non-rebuildable 12 turn Titan Can motor . So after you set all of those parts in a box never to see the light of day again and buy what you like then you start tearing up Shocks and driveline. I feel like it is programmed into thier marketing scheme.


Darn 1/10 scale "tinker toys" what a waste of time and a money hole. at least with fifth scale if we want to sell our cars they are worth half or over what we got in them. Most 1/10 scale sell for 1/4 of what is invested.

I have a slayer and a stampede. my wife wanted the stamped for some reason(it is a POS!). The slayer has been a pretty good truck other than the previously mentioned POS radio and servos. I also removed that stupid easystart crap and purchased a bump box for it. outside of that it has been maint free for a couple months and it gets run every weekend. As for the value of 1/10 and 1/8 scale. Worthless comes to mind. If you get even a quarter of its original value after a year then you are lucky. I buy all my stuff used (except for the traxxas trucks).
 
that's why I bought the ofna 10sc... so far only bent a shock tower and broke some body posts... and I do big air at the bmx track with it. 5700 kv on 3s is crazy
