Hello guys. I just joined the forums and I’m thinking about buying a Losi 5t. I have many rc’s already, but nothing like a 5t. Will also be my first gas powered rc. I’d like to hear your opinions on the Losi 5t.

Thanks

Probably just running back and forth over big fields with low grass. Probably small jumps here and there. I’d like to race it eventually if I can find a good sized dirt track. Probably buy new since I have a discount code.
The losi 5ive t is awesome, I have 3 😆. What's your plans with it? What type of bashing or racing do you want to do with it? Buying a new 2.0 or a used one?
Are yours all stock and do you race and bash them?

The 2.0 is a nice rig and some nice updates to it as well. I road race 1 of mine and love the 5ive t so much I'm building a 2nd one, their very durable and forgiving trucks so bashing or racing you won't have to worry about a tumble.

Since you want to run on grass you want to look into getting outerwears to keep the grass from building up behind the engine cover as well as any stray pebbles getting sucked into the flywheel. There's plenty of upgrades and bling bits for the 5ive t, the big 3 sites for buying upgrades and aftermarket parts for 5th scale is
DDM racing, Detroit performance rc and Taylor rc.

Thanks a lot. What do you recommend for a kill switch? I hear they’re mandatory with these cars

100% not only to protect you and the money that's laid out for these but it keeps you out of legal situations if something should ever happen.

So to be point blank alot of feedback on aftermarket stuff can be biased or brand loyal opinions just to give you a heads up.

So I run dynamite kill switches as their cheap, reliable and easy to install.
Mod (Matt Olson designs) is another good killswitch, I don't know anything beyond hearing good reviews.

Killer rc was one of the top go to's but his customer service has severally gone down the toilet so I highly advise against attempting to purchase.

Nice trucks for sure.
I also installed the dynamite kill switches in my 5t and DBXL. No issues and relatively easy to install. Have to pull the fan cover to get at wires but not a big deal. When I installed them both were done even before I started them the first time.
