I have 5T on the way and want to change out the motor to Zenoah or CY. I want zenoah 26 or Cy 28.5. Would these two motors be drop in fit or I have to mod it? also, whats the best pipe for these? Thanks..

BTW, one last thing, Hows the fuelie engine? for some reason, I don't really trust RTR motors.. I just had bad luck w/ nitro rtr's.. thanks..

the stock motor in the 5Ts is a cy 26cc, just has a Fuely sticker on the pull starter. So yes either would drop right in.
they CYs are ok, but they have poor cylinder plateing, its a 50/50 shot yours will be good or go south. the 28.5 topends have Much better cylinder plating than the rest of the CY offerings. but the Zenoahs are better yet but only got to a 26cc size currently. though the grapevine word is Zen is supposed to be releaseing a 36mm topend this year.!!!!!

for 115. you can buy the DDM Race Ported 28.5 topend and just install that on your stock motor. I strongly recommend you buy a set of Fast Eddy Crank bearing in Stainless and replace the CY bearings, they suck. the FE set will do you and the motor much better. then toss the old bearings, and put the 26cc cylinder/piston/ring on the shelf for a backup. the bearings are only 13.00 and if your carefull when taking out the oil seals on the stock 26, you could re use them as they are new. but new oil seals are only 6.00

I would want to get a zenoah and be done with. If I get this then would I have to do any grinding/modding to fit into the 5T? Im really new to the Gas world, have been working on nitro and elec. but never gas. Thanks..

Hey in my own opinion I would just run the stock motor if it blows it blows u can always put ahead kit onto it that's only my 2cents and yes the zo 26 cc will fit rite in no problems all motors will fit I believe

I would also keep with the 26cc and bash the heck out of it. You can install a Zen head on it later if there are problems but take advantage of the motor you get with it and pipe the motor 1st.:cool2:

direct drop ins. no modding needed (or shouldnt be any needed atleast). you MAY want to use the CY clutch housing. the Zen clutch housing can interfere with the brake linkages. mabye the CY Flywheel houseing MAY need to be used.
I would Deffinatly use the CY pullstart assembly over the Zenoah one though.

the cy 26 should be a decent runnner. but i do understand your wanting to drop in a zen and call it the day. if you do go this route, you can always sell the stock 26 on ebay. they go for around 150.00 plus USD on ebay here stateside.

I would want to go w/ zenoeh, but can anyone give me a link to which one? i have seen 4 bolt? what ever that means, I hate to be grinding stuff to make it fit.. thanks...

if you want a new Zen than get the Zen G270 four bolt.
get it with a 668 carb not the 813 carb.
also i would change the clutch houseing and use the one that came with the stocker or get the turtle racing clutch holder.
than you would have a drop in engine.
also use the stock
cy air filter on the new Zen G270
i got one from DDM and it is one of the Best engines i have had.
call Brad at DDM and tell him what you want and he will make it right for you.

Good luck.
i am running the DDM side mount pipe on mine .
runs great.

the 4bolt referance is too the number of cylinder bolts holding the topend to the cases. their are 2bolts G230RC and G260RC) and the 4bolt (G240RC and G270RC). 23cc and 26cc respectively.
all four of these Zenoah motors are direct drop ins as i noted above.

the cy 36mm cylinder doesn't suffer from the plating issues mentioned...cy addressed this a while back yet the thin plating slur continues...i prefer the cy cases for ported cylinders as they're better matched at the transfers and require little work to port match whilst the zen cases need quite a lot of grinding. I've run both motors and now run 2 ported 28.5 cys and have zero complaints.
I do like the 4 bolt head but i believe the ported 2 bolt motors are still making more power than ported 4 bolts. The 4 bolts port timing and transfers are different to the 2 bolt.

CY only addressed the plating issue on the GP290 motor as GoPed demanded. back in the day, GoPed was using Zen 26 motors. to get more torque they went to the cy 29cc. but the cylinder plating sucked bad. they made cy improve the plating process and had them go to a 36mm bore, which is why that motor has better plating than the other cy offerings. now whether CY can not put this plating process on their other cylinders due to the GoPed arrangement, or becuz they just don't give a poop either way is anyones guess.

I cant seem to find the engine w/ that carb.. can someone give me a link to which motor to buy? thanks,,

I have a stock engine you can not get tires to put the power to the ground why do you need bigger ,,, my Baja5B just tosses dirt and grass all day ,,, in snow with sand tires i have a 10 foot rustertail of snow ,,, just the stock engine is all you need ,,, its got more power then the weight of the buggy :2guns:

i hope you added a tuned pipe already ,, just a pipe can add 20% Hp:cool2:
