I am building a Taylor 35 reed case V2 at the moment and ordered parts yesterday , which I got today.
I know we are in the UK as they are , but that was quick.
I don’t know it might be the shipping Is slow right now because of the hurricane , not sure.

I really want this engine .

I got a shipping email today so it’s going to be soon .

Ordered the rest of my parts to build my Taylor 35 reed day before yesterday, got them all yesterday, great service from Taylor here in the UK.
Built the bottom end up now, just waiting for my Akill piston to turn up from Japan now ,so I can finish the build.
I went for Taylor as they use a custom designed and manufactured cylinder with much bigger ports cast in instead of just modding a Zenoah cylinder like others do.
Cannot wait to test it , quality looks fantastic.

I went with the 150 million dollar company zenoah as the castings are not going to be beat .

Don't get me wrong .
The Zenoah stuff is good , but the fact remains that you cannot open up the transfer ports to anywhere near as big or smoothe as the Taylor v2 cylinder as the port area is much wider. You would break through the outer wall.
There is a finite limit to what you can do with a mass produced product , whereas cad designed bespoke products tend to be better.
There is a vid online from Taylor showing cut cross sections of Zenoah and Taylor cylinders to show the port design which you may find interesting .
Then of course there is the seperate head design which allows the squish area to be easily modified .

Yep.
It shows what is possible in ports with bespoke designed cylinder verses a standard casting, which is why I went with the Taylor over another tuner's reed case engine .
