Hi

Need a bit of input from you guys on the best Throttle/Brake servo around at the moment. Unfortunately I have managed to burn out my Hitec hs 625mg. Obviously I need to replace it, I am running front cable disk brakes off it as well as throttle control. Any ideas or suggestions for a good replacement, preferably with greater torgue than the existing. Am running spektrum DX3s radio gear. Is there a better hitec servo in standard size? I have looked at hitec servo list but its getting a little confusing as to whats best for this application.

Thanks

I use the Savox 1256TG.
Do you have a standard radio/servo plate or is it an alloy or carbon one?
Reason is that unless you reinforce the standard one, there is little gain in installing a high torque servo, as the standard plastic one will simply bend.

The Hitec 7955TG is even more powerful, and expensive than the Savox 1256TG.
Both a top notch, possibly the Hitec moreso but as BtB says, you get what you pay for.
I've 4 Savox 1256TG's on my different RC's and not one has ever failed - one is the steering servo on my E-Maxx.
Be careful with the 'new high voltage' servos coming on the market - you may need to power them separately and not via the Rx (receiver).
Your call.

The Hitec 645mg is the hi-torque equivalent of the 625 but at 9kg is 'just' on the ok side with the cable brakes. I don't spend as much on the hobby as some so bought a Bluebird 630mg with 15kg to try out - it was less than £30 and has been reliable so far. Got a killer bee fitted just in case tho

Hi

Thanks for that, I will check out your suggestions. Thanks atom3624, I hadn't given much thought to the servo tray but that's a good point.

Thanks

You don't have to go for the ally tray just add 2 extra posts to the front of the std plastic tray to eliminate the lift on the front when you apply the brakes.

steering: Multiplex Rhino 4 (same as HS 5755 except for a red colour case) The Rhino has NOT been replaced by the 5755 in the UK/EU, its still widely available, its only over the waters the 5755 has taken its place.

Throttle: Multiplex Power Speed (think mpex has replaced this with a newer version?)

Ive used these for a good 5+ years in my MB Pro... not 1 prob :)

i believe the 5755 was a replacement for the 5745, main change is output gear, bigger with bigger splines.

My 5755 in the 4WD FG has been in there for 70+ tanks, never missed a beat, would happily use this for all future large scale applications.
