I will check the battery again.. It may have been bigger.

If its the red pack that DTX just sent you then its the stock 1800 nicad battery. It does not last so long and is in need of discharge each time you recharge. Upgrade the battery to a minimum 3000mah NiMh battery. You should be able to get a good flat sub C battery from many LHS's or on eBay. I think most LHS's carry the Venum 6V 3000mah NiMh battery.

JJ- I had the same problem and i think it is fail safe system. They are know to pick up noise from the gas motor. They are designed to use on a nitro car. I know it is fustrating to see that the front wheels are turning but no throtle response.

I got the 3PM 2.4 ghz and it has a built in fail safe that you can set it to brake when you loose signal. I use it in with the pico switch. With this combination the range is incredible.

I modified the pico switch myself but just did not have time to post the results. You can buy the modified pico switch and add a remote LED for under 4 bucks.

Update... ditched the failsafe and installed Killswitch #3. No more issues! Thx all!

Alright! I still got to get me some of those. Sucks to need more then one at a time.

BTB, Do I hear that you don't have Pico Kill switch? If you need several, I would attempt to modifide them yourself. PM me if you need help.

Thank you.
I love doing things myself that way I have an idea of how it works. It also keeps me busy with my hobby. Buying stuff is cool but for me not as satisfying.
I may take you up on that. Didn't you post up a how-to make your own kill switch in the electronics area? All I can find is the add LED to modified one.

I'm with you 100%. I get more satisfaction out of retrofit, modifing, and sharing idea or what you learn.

I did not post how to modify a Pico switch. I can not get good close up pictures with my camera.

I have some good close up pictures that I got from our sister form. They need more detail for clarity. Big Question?? Can I use those pictures in my post? This is a very contraversal topic in other form and I do not want to be smear.

It's not any trade secret on how to make a switch go open or close or even add
a lite....I don't see any patent on that idea..Just my thoughts...Slawhammer

These are pictures that someone took so I'm a little consern. That is why I'm asking BTB to make the call.

Yes ..I understand you on the pictures...unless they are copy rights to the pictures
then you have to have permission from the owner of the picture to use it...
Or watermarked by the owner.....If not then free will as to using some one's posted pictures...But a thank you to that person would be nice for there work done and posted
giving them credit....But Like you said BTB can make the call then....Slawhammer

It is important to remember that unless you took a photo, someone else potentially owns that photo and has the rights to it. Be sure that when you photo share, you do not share a photo that has a copyright unless you have permission to share it.

Most of the time someone will care less but, it is always a good idea to ask that person by email or PM and keep that email or PM in a saved folder for future use if they forget.

If someone would use someone else's photo and they do not like it, they should simply rename or move the photo to another folder in the image host. This will move the link from where the person had it and the photo link will break and not show the photo. Problem with that is it will do the same where you linked it too.

Its going to be a mushy item until there is finally a law on a non copyrighted on line photo.

In the end try to use your own photo if possible. Less of a headache!!:)

Do you have a macro setting. It is usually labeled with a flower or rose looking emblem. That will allow you to get close up.

I was going to suggest the same thing about photographs. Best to take your own to play it safe.

That what i thought. I Will use what I have to avoid the mess.

The Pico Switch is quite small and the macro on my camera does not focus well that close.

Hey Guys, I just got My Firehammer, and im experiancing the same things, but. I have removed my failsafe ( i havnt fired up the engine at all yet.) And the radio is still hard braking, while the steering goes back and forth.... I have just cut my Stock Charger wire and spliced into a Tomyia(spelling) plug from an old battery, to make a adapter for my Brain 989, Questions are, What should i set this battery up for? as far as Charge rate and for discharge? im not so great with NIcds, i plan on eventualy upgrading to NIMH but i got some other things first to get before i get to a new battery.

I know the battery is not staying fully charged , like others have said the stock charger sucks, Duratrax should refund us some of our moneys or remove it from the kit. I still don't see why the steering would be fine and the throttle servo would turn sharp to the brakes, to the point whre i turn off the reiciever it actualy has to twist back to the left (throttle side) because of force from the rod...

1st dischage the battery withthe discharge setting on your charger. If you do not have that just charge the stock battery at 2amp then peak.
