Hi guys,

After getting the go ahead from the wife (YAY!) im going to be in the market later this year for a new you.

As most of you know im currently running a FG MT, i want my next one to be 4WD and better suited to track work (BMX tracks not dedicated rc tracks as their isnt one in my entire state other than home built) so i don't want a 4WD FG MT.

Im currently looking at either the FG Baja, TBII or a MCD.

I can get the info I need for the FG and MCD but I cant find any info or sellers on the TBII. I need info such as what are the different kits, whats alloy and whats plastic, what is the engine, are they RTR or do you add your own radio gear etc.

Also I would opinions on how durable these things are as this is my priority.

thanks pipe, I checked them out yeasterday, allot cheaper than what i would have thought they would be.

also looking on opinions of owners who can say how durable they are, getting allot of mixed emotions about MCD stuff so its a toss up between the FG 4WD and the TBII

I am liking the rc itself... servos I am going to give electro shock therapy to. 3s lipo should light them up good. out of the box the suspension feels good. be another 2 weeks before I can play with it though. still have my fg's ;) ...

I bought my buggy and bought my car (nutechs). car is coming. so if I don't like something, I will say so. I just ordered aluminum dif cases and front cvd's. I think front cvd's should be standard myself. it is on every 8th scale out there. that said they are a pretty cheap upgrade. $218 pretty much bullit proofs the drivetrain... 3 alloy dif cases and front cvds.

it's fairly light. only real issues are maybe the steering setup and front dogbones. servos are junk like most rtr's. body is ok but I'll be replacing it soon. brakes are strong and bias can be adjusted. tires and rims are nice. and it's big... almost as long as an hpi baja. 2cm shorter wheelbase than the semi but 4cm wider.

the fg 4wd rtr still has bones front and rear, the hurrax and mcd have cvd's now as standard but the new MCD evo4 doesn't come with a centre diff anymore as standard...you get a spool...centre diff is an option now...I asked the MCD guy at the show if they had finally fixed the weak diffs at go no. 4 ...he said yes...if you buy the LSD diff !!!! so i take that as the stock diffs are still iffy and unmodified:blink:

Ye moo i spoke to Sinan to at the fair, asked them same ? and he told me we just have to buy the new 9 teeth planetary gears and the new harden pins so by the sound of it hes not giving the same answer to his potential customers doh,
I just don't under stand why he doesn't just redesign a new diff that will fit in the diff house

@ sperera

I have a fg 4wd mt also have the nutech mt pro-racer , fs racing mt

fg is a good platform and has bean around for years
fs racing is a clone of the mcd pro line has alot of work on it to get it up to scratch but all in all sweet just the diffs need some work .
I have a 1/4 scale conversion on my fs now and have no problems with the diffs at all
then there is the nutechracing well the mt pro racer has just arrived,
i can remember when my fg arrived but when i saw this monster i couldnt believe my eyes how big and well put together , don't forget this is a prototype mt pro racer Chris told me there will be changes before it will go it into production
