This is what I use - gives you some time to really align the tyre before it bites, and must be held well.
I'm not a fan of the super thin glue on big tyres.

and this stuff for cleaning the rubber and it helps speed things up if you've got a difficult tyre that keeps coming away from the rim.

This has always been my choice, very thin and dries super quick.

give the guys at http://www.pgracing.co.uk/ a shout. they supply the glue we use for wheels and tyres for us and we race all over the country in the uk nationals and i have never had a tyre come off yet. Its runny super glue but its really strong stuff. Be carefull you don't glue your fingers to the tyre though as you will loose some skin lol

Super glue and rubber bands has worked great for me.
