I had a couple 8th scale wheels strip out. I dabbed some JB weld into the rounded areas and then dremeled it back to shape. It never stripped again.

I never tried it on a heavy 5th scale. Who knows it might work. If not, the wheel is trash anyway.

Fill the stripped area with JB Weld and cover it in clear plastic wrap, smear grease on the threads and shaft, then shove it back on the car and tighten the wheel nut. Once cured the jb weld will hold the shape of the square and the clear cling wrap will allow you to still remove the wheel.

Nice..

That would save an hour of dremel time.

Sure. Make sure you have the threads greased up or else that wheel will become a permanent part of your car!

Oh and use the original JB Weld, not that JB Kwik crap, mix it up until it's a nice light gray, like cast iron. If it's too dark it won't harden, it will be rubbery, and it will fail.

Good Luck!

Works like a champ. I did that on my old Nutech wheels and one of my XB-e wheels. As far as I know the Nutech wheel is still holding up.

Sweet tip! I'll have to remember that.

Wow Great Idea, I have 2 tires that are getting stripped. Will try this over the weekend. My Poor XT has been laid up on a shelf for way to long time to get it back into action

That sounds better than what I do I will try that. Oh I have wheel adapters. Good to know though!
