Put an iPhone 3GS on my MT and recorded the GPS top speed.

I reached a max speed of 40mph with 27/33 gears and gutted stock

exhaust can plus a 28.5cc headkit. I ordered a new set of gears to give

me a better combination of torque and speed instead of just torque.

Probably wasn't the best idea risking damage to my phone but I wanted

to see if my telemetry system was accurate...guess it was:D

Don't know if that is a good speed or not? What kind of top speed are

you pro's averaging?

Seems pretty darn fast for an MT. Mine is geared more for torque, and I don't think think it comes even close to 40mph...even with a big ol 30.5 ESP engine. Yours seems pretty fast. I would love to put a radar gun to mine. But I like acceleration more than top speed anyway. the front tires on mine barely skim the ground on mine under acceleration. It is quick but not super fast! 40mph is cookin along for a big monster truck. That is a lot of rubber to spin! Using your phone is a cool idea. Aint technology sweet!?!

before the snow, we put my TT to the radar, ONB raceport G270, hostile AT's, and 33/27, 26/23. got it up to 52mph. swapped gears to 36/24, it took a mile, and never revved out, but hit 55mph.

40 with a MT is pretty good, i don't care what motor you have. all i ask is that you test your failsafe and brakes, that's a lot of weight to slow down.

52-55mph is scootin right along for a tt. for any 5th scale. I am impressed the tts pick up so much speed from not having those big ol tires!

I have a fortrtex wrist GPS thats accurate but whenever I strap it to the Ramp it turns off. It works on all my electrics but not the Ramp. Not sure why. I bet my 28.5 stock gear MT is 33-37mph range. I put it against my electric which does actual 43mph and the MT was a but slower top speed.
