Hi, is Anyone familair with a mini torque converter used in place of chain and sprocket on a large scale?

are you referring to a jackshaft setup like on a snow mobile, or used in some go-carts??? im not familiar with any setup like that for any r/c

Hi, yes I was referring to a mini torque converter, or maybe a pully set up that engages when a servo presses on the belt for the pulleys to grab while free spinning at idle. Just a "mini scale" of a mini bike set up.

I have a 33 cc and was palcing it in my xtm and thinking of ways to get power to the wheels.

what exactly do you have and what are you trying to do with it??? im a little confused why your after this sort of thing over our traditional centrifical clutch setup

your talking bout a mini CVT (Constant Veloscity Tranxmission). there are some units for the GoPeds that MAY be able to be converted to RC use.

I wonder what kind of mods will be needed. I cant rememebr what CVT looks like or is it like a cone like pulley on a mini jackshaft, with a belt riding up and down the cone engaged by a servo and will change gear ratio....
