Hi have now got a sportline 08 with Audi body,is it possible to put truck rims/offroad tyres and cut about a secondhand body and also use the car on short grass etc just for a bit off variaty, don't know whether this would work ok or am I just being stupid, thanks guys

do you know anybody who has a off road car with wheels you can borrow if so try car without bodyshell on to see on road car may be to low but worth a try if you can get hold of some off road wheels saves a bodyshell as well if it don't work

there really aren't a lot of differences in the on road and off road setup. last winter I put a set of marder buggy tires on my semi and ran in a snowy parking lot. that was a hoot spraying up the snow and bouncing over the frozen car tracks.

really the only differences are the flat chassis, rear dif raiser and motor mounting. you might want to make a brace to keep the chassis flex near layshaft gear less or stiffen the chassis with some bracing along sides... or just hunt down a marder chassis. I see them for sale on ebay uk all the time. when people do the 4wd upgrade they sell the stock chassis. I think I paid $40 for mine

That's funny... I tried to put my onroad wheel on my FG Baja (they don't fit the front) but never thought to try the Baja wheels on the car. I will try it tonight and post pictures if I can. Should be good for a laugh.

you need the semi tires for the baja. knuckles are different on the car for clearance of the smaller tires. I wonder if I still have a pic. we took a hobby pro car and put mt wheels and gears on. was an odd looking beast for sure.

Here are the "before" pictures... :2guns:

Last ones... :nono:

All in all, it doesn't look as bad as I would have thought. The front tires touched the plastic bumper. With some trimming, it could work.

I placed an unpainted Viper body on it and by Baja body just to see what that would look like.

Thanks for all your replies, think i,m going to give it a go but put truck size rims on ,and get a secondhand body and cut out archs,Thanks.:)

right on. I consider my vw dual purpose. If you'd have seen the airtime the semi was getting at a parking lot we go to lol. it has offroad shocks. middle of the lot had a lip. I didn't see it first time and kinda scared me. after a while I was hitting it full throttle. Rich was there... not very high in the air but was covering 15 to 20 feet some jumps.
