Deluge I will be honest with you,you have got a better chance of seeing god than getting it in without bending it out, I don't know how it will work but i will get a close up looking down on it so you can see the clearance I have and how much I had to bend I will post it later
 
Is it possible to trim the side of the chassis with out completely separating the top of the side of the chassis? Not to weeken it if you know what I'm saying.
 
You no RCDAD I thought about cutting the aluminum out you would have to cut down to the first seam in the side rail, I (my opinion) think you could remove the metal without changing the rigid stability on that side rail, I think that bend or what I am calling the seam was left I don't think it would hurt the structure of it
 
I think you would've been fine cutting it. The engine mount helps support that area of the chassis. Especially if you're running the Python mount.
