What kind of tubing are you using for your oval tracks? Where can it be bought on the internet, cheapest places to purchase, etc?

I want to build a track in my backyard but I am working on limited funds so please share some info and let me know.

Ok here is a photo of the back of my track. It rained all week so have not had that much time to work on it.

Im doing a small short course track. Some of the same stuff may work for you.

Rubber cones: At Lowes 8.50 each. about 2 ft tall. Flexible rubber. doesn't hurt rcs when they crash into them.

2x4 or other wood: can be found in dumpsters or leftover from building houses for free. Painted neon orange

Garden hose: Kind of expensive

flag markers: bright orange. 100 for 10.00 on ebay

track dots: can be made with the rubber you coat tool handles with. At lowes. Use a plate 8 inches or bigger (can be disposable) and pour the rubber tool grip on the plate. You might want to use non stick on the plate.

skateboard ramps: at toys r us. all shapes and sizes.

Ok, good ideas, keep them coming guyz. We are building our first track this summer in the back yard, will post videos when we get some of it done.

Check some car dealership detail departments for floor mats they are throwing away. Sometime they buy new mats for the used cars and throw the old ones away. You can cut out large circles from the mats and paint them with neon spray paint to make track dots. They wont hurt your car to drive over them and the back side is sticky rubber sometimes with grippy spikes.

The guy who has the track pieces here is trying to get some tilling disc blades from some used farm equipment. He says they are the perfect size and are dome disc perfect for track dots. I haven't seen them yet.

Well I called up the local fire dept admin and left a message but the never returned my call. Anyways I bought all the materials to start my track this weekend. Spent about $125 so far. I will post a picture of it here in this thread later after I get it started. Haha you guys are going to crack the hell up when you see it. It's total original idea though and I think it pretty cool... haha Shh! Don't say anything Cordy, I want them to see the pictures first. haha I don't have a Rampage to run on my track though :(

Ok so you`ve spiked my curiosity, if not a Rampage what will you be running on the track?....

I have some rides. For now I am running all nitro, MGT 8.0, Speednt, Savage and Hyper7. I have to do some landscaping before I can put down the track. My backyard is all grass. I need to get a weed wacker out there and chop a lot of crap down so we are able to run the riding mower over it. Once I have this stuff cleared out, I am going to lay the track.

Cool good luck with it, i hope your able to find all the things you need to make it all come together, lookin forward to seeing the final product.

I will be using some stuff from around the house as well. The track has to be fun. As far as a final product, not sure when that will be because I will always be looking for ways to improve what I have going on. I am going to post a lot of pictures on my forum as well as videos. You will be able to check it out under the My Track thread here: http://angryrecords.iforums.us

Its also very effective at polluting the soil, i would hope he wouldn`t want to pollute his back yard, with all thats going on in the gulf with the oil spill i cant believe someone would recommend doing that, not to mention the fact that its illegal, come on!...Doesn`t anyone care about the environment anymore??....
