Traxxas Velineon Problem

Velineon 1200XL Brushless Problem I have the above motor it’s brand-new but I’m getting a lot of lateral movement in the shaft around 5 mm which makes meshing the Pinion and Spur extremely difficult. All my other motors have a solid shaft with no movement. Is this a problem?

There shouldn't be any discernible movement side to side. Only some end play in the shaft is normal.
