As you may have seen in my recent posts, I've had a new body painted, but was looking at ways of 'completing the look'.
Alloy wheels are expensive, and can get 'bashed', but are robust and do look better.
I was closing down the options that were available when I came across this from RC4WD

OK, with that much rubber, you will say that the truck will become 'bouncy' and you're probably not wrong.
When you look at the ratio of rubber to wheel on the real Blue Thunder, this is 100% correct.
RC4WD say it is NOT a straight fit, but can machine custom centres to fit the FG MT perfectly. They're just looking into the application cf disc brakes - which I have on the front on mine.
INTERESTING? :cool2:

I like RC4WD wheels. I had some for my baja and they held up nicely. I don't know about a monster truck though.
I think the ones in the picture look killer and they are well priced.

To be honest, I think there'll be no problem with the wheels, I reckon the problem will be if the tyres can support the extra 8-10kg - more than twice the weight of the T/E-Maxx trucks!!
Maybe I can find harder inserts to assist the tyres ... one way to find out!

I've seen guys on the HPI baja forum use the foam noodles (you know those things that you have in your pool) and they held up well. That and with one noodle you can easily have enough for a couple of sets..

Nice idea.
I've a knack of being a tad controversial, but I have had problems with Imex tyres ripping on my BL E-Maxx before now. That's a beast, but can't compare to the FG MT (6.5kg cf 15kg !!).

As I say, only one way to find out. :)

Hi atom3624 for that price i would snap them up
I was busy last year trying to get my manufacture to get these made but the price would have been above €350 when he told me about the price and why well i thought no one in there right mind would pay that for a set of cnc billet rims just to go bashing well i know i certainly wouldn't

Well by the looks of them they do look strong enough for the mt have you asked over at the HPIbajaforum for there insight

thanks btb i certainly did miss that one
well to be honest when i got a pm back telling me they wouldn't do international shipping well never thought they would of changed that anyway one up for rampage hopups (USAbaja5)

Payment has been made.
They say there's a big backlog, so I may have to wait a bit.

As I said earlier, I'm a tad wary of the huge tyres, but that's the true profile of Blue Thunder, so I'll let y'all know sometime next year I suppose when I have all installed!

I cannot wait - it's GOT TO look great!!!!
Then it's going to roll ...

:(
