TS 30.5cc reedcase question.

...Just a question from a straight up noob, in the realm of rc-gassers/1/5scale. Just bought a losi 5ive t, second hand. Seemed like a good deal, considering how much it was upgraded. The guy who sold it bought it august last year or maybe the year before that( don't friggin remember what he said)...

Don't know if it has the 850 usd or 1500 usd engine... If any of them. His advert suggested so...

Bought it for 1500 usd. Guy said engine assembly with pipe was like 2k. With fancy 9k rpm clutch and turtleracing pullstart and triple-filters.

Have been googling about tuning and etc... so got some kind of an idea of how the low and high needle thing works.

Car seems fine, starts easily, runs "smooth" and not to noisy on idle, but... It seems to be a little underpowered. Low torque from a standstill. And its kinda like it suddenly loses power in the mid high rpm/speed.
Like 0m--(slow accelration)--30m-------blob------100m)). xD. (Nice representation of a speed run lawls)...

Don't really know what more to say... Do you guys have any suggestions of parts getting wore out, that might need replacement? So it can run a little better. Or maybe fith-scale just seems a lot slower, cos of the increased size?

Why not just ask someone who has a clue about gassers you say? Sure... i can do that. Probably the thing to do.

But a little opinion from you guys wont hurt i guess.

Been running 1/8 brushless for the last recent years.

...Anyway, sorry for such bad/vague formulated question(s) that probably make you wanna rip you hairs out of your heads! xD.

Don't compare it to brushless it's not instance tork it has to go 5 to 6 foot to wind up also I call them old man friendly they are not as quick as 1/8 just as fast though sounds like it may be little lean on top end

Might need to re-ring it check the compression with gauge

The 5ive T stock engine is weak on bottom end. He might have duped you into thinking you have a different engine in it than what it really has. Pics. would help us id. your setup issue, and engine type. It might be geared wrong, and maybe a hundred other things.

Did it start easy it does not look like it has a choke if it's hard to start its a good bet it's lean on low speed jet and from what you said sound like lean on both low and high these motors are not like nitro motors they can run better a little rich and from loses power it's lean what pinion gear is on it it also may be running out of gear

looks like an obr reedcase engine, maybe their 30.5 reedcase 8hpmotor. could do with clear pictures. on the other hand a ts bottom with obr ported cylinder.which ever, both very nice .

Took some running videos today. Going to put up it on the forum. Hopefully, some of you more experienced guys coul dtell me if the engine is running fine or not. Got some tuning in aswell.
