So I was running my XT today and noticed that there was a lot of wobble on all my tires (they look like the need a wheel and tire balance from NTB) so I checked all the bearings though I still have the stock ones. They looked good ....little to no play. Then I put the wheels back on and ran again but I put them on alittle tighter... same thing!! Any ideas??

Are they the stock tires and wheels ???? I run the XT and if the bearings look good then im willing to bet the foams are gone in the tires . I had the same issue and fixed it with a foam sleeping mat similar to the material proline uses for their foams as inserts and other guy's use pool noodles

If the XT sits on the ground, look to see if it appears there is a flat. That means the foam is definately giving way. The other thing I learned is that when storing my XT, I store it with the frame resting on my tool box and the tires suspended in the air. This is a heavy truck and can lead to flat spots.

Also, I replaced the foam in my tires with foam sleeping mat as well. Worked good as far as the firmness of the tire, but just yesterday I borrowed a friend's little wheel rotator balencer thing and balanced each of them as well. Now it doesn't look like a cricket jumping down the road. For balancing material I used a roll of magnetic strip that is sticky on one side. Worked GREAT.

they are known to degrade into powder and start to hold up in one area of the tire and after a few tanks you will see wrinkle walls and flopping like a flat tire hopefully somebody can chime in with more experience

when you fix the balance issue you may want to replace the bearings as well because a unbalanced wheel will trash a case in a hurry and lead to more repairs

Guantanamo Joe you might be on to something!! My XT does rest on its wheels!! But what rotating wheel thing are u talking about? Like a real wheel balancing machine?? I would love to balance my wheels!!

I am not sure where he got it, but it is a small "A" frame with a bearing on it. You screw your wheel onto it, give it a spin, and gravity tells you which side is the heaviest so you just counterweight the other side. Mine are not perfect now, but they sure as hell are better than they were 2 days ago.
