Ive built a couple bajas from scratch part by part, completely torn down and rebuilt many times. Read the manuals 100s of times.as mick said above, the smaller ones above right are for castor on front upper a arms,
the upper left wide one is for the front bumper/brace that slides through the front bulkhead, should be two of them one each side and clip on the bumper/brace part at rear of the bulkhead,
the lower ones look like they are the front camber adjuster spacers,
if they are then they fit into the hole in the upper front a arm where the upper heim fastens in,
more spacers equals less negative camber and less spacers equals more negative camber,
yep, i went and checked my boxes of spares cos you got me curious as well nowIve built a couple bajas from scratch part by part, completely torn down and rebuilt many times. Read the manuals 100s of times.
Any part of a baja i can name and tell what it does or goes to. But the unknown 3mm spacers have left me baffled. I cut them off the parts trees myself so i know they
came in the genuine hpi baja parts. But still have yet to find the intended use for them.
They are not the camber spacers for the upper front a arms. They are not shown in any manual as used. Like how you see extra unused parts on a parts tree that are white and not gray showing they are not used.
This happens when they make parts in a part tree for other modles like the 5t and 5sc bumpers and side rails that don't get used on a 5B. Even my kraken tskb and sx5 cages have extra parts that don't get used. But my ocd just kinda wants to figure out what the manufacturer was going to do.
A example would be like the unused ports on video game consoles. N64 had a port for a disc drive. Ps1 had a serial port. Psvita had a accessory port but no accessory for it lol.
The losi 5t has a "whats the point of that part" too. A plastic spacer that goes under the steering top plate. Spacer has a hole on one side. Fits only 1 way. But no one knows what that hole is for. Part only fits one way so the hole isnt for marking how to mount it.
yeh that looks em fellaCould this be them?
No thats the other 3mm spacer. As seen in my pic on the turnbuckel. The unknow has a larger outer diameterLooks like they are for castor adjustment but they go under ball for tie rod on front hub
