I just got my radio plate and servos from Large scale alloy (thanks lsa) I get my truck all put back together and I am adjusting my throttle linkage and my hitec 5955 starts twitching a bit, then it stopped... I let it sit for a few seconds while I am playing with the on/off switch and then the smoke comes out!!

200 bucks worth of dead servos from the same damn puddle... I figured the servo would have dried out by now, it's been 2 weeks, but I guess not.. Of course it is 65 degrees out and I want to run my truck...

Time for another servo!!

This is getting old...

Ouch. That sucks man... I recommend if you run in water to blow the car off entirely with an air hose as soon as your done. Never let it sit. Water can seep into almost any holy it sees and it only takes 1 drop to short it out. You could also use a hair dryer if you think you got water in there or to just be safe and heat it up really good this might help some.

What model number is the JR servo with the 4xxoz of torque?? I was thinking about the Hitec 7950 with 403oz, but it isn't available yet.

Here's 1 that 403oz jr DS8711 ..,,Slawhammer

That's the one I was looking at getting next.

Check this one out Trip. I think DDM got a bunch. They have been selling a bunch on ebay lately. DDM Servo

Not too sure there is any difference in the one you listed or the other servo. I think the SG and TG stand for speed and tourque but they tech out the same?

HSR-5990TG
HSR-5990TG

gotta come up with a way to waterproof those servos.

dielectric greese, silicone/rtv, orings, balloons, plastidip ect....

well you can always get a airboat..good for water or land..to use when there is bad weather..keep your Fg truck safe that way....I have gotten servo's wet before....
I use a balloon to protect every thing..or don't run the Rc Unit in bad weather...cost to
much to repair....Slawhammer

man thats a bummer

hiteks are a god servo,im surprised water has cooked it though,i have let mine get wet loads of times and are still perfect, was it old age that caught up with them:lol:

kind of expensive enough new arnt they, have you another ordered,i have to order two tomorrow one in mine went the other day aswell on the beetle from having the elcon saver too tight, burnt out my steering servo, sickning!!
had an old one on stand by to see me through untill i get new ones....

The puddle I hit was over a foot deep!!! I thought it was only a little puddle maybe an inch or so, but when the water went up to the middle of the windows on my truck, Then I knew it was deep!!!
I have never had a problem with Hitec servos, but i guess if you abuse them, they will fail...

I guess chalk it up to operator error...

Whoops!!!
