ok my MT has been shipped, and should be here next wednesday.

ive been scanning the forum and have learned alot, but i have question.......

some of the posts ive read are anywhere from 2-4 yrs. old so i was wondering if the MT's have evolved in the last few yrs. as far as revisions ect.?

The one I got in Dec. came with hardened diff. cups and you can tell by the copperish color. They are also 19mm outer diameter. Mine also has cvd' but am switching to dogbones.

Just wanted to correct something even though the V3 is the newest they have still made changes to the v3 since it came out. So I would really call it a v3.5 .

Originally the v3 came with a 26cc motor, plastic gears, plastic gear servos, plastic gear plate and for a very short time when they first came out they had dog bones that went to the wheels. They now come with a 30cc motor, aluminum gear plate, steel gears, and metal gear servos and CVD's.

However If your steering servos go out I would swap those for Hitec's any day. Cant beat the 2 Yr warranty.

My rampage is about 2 years old and has all the listed changes. However that does not mean older versions weren't still being shipped to the retailers. I've recently came across a new 6mm axle XBE new from Redcat. The 10mm change was made over a year a ago.

Looks like they always change parts if the need arises. My MT from just before christmas came with hardened diff cups. They seem to address any problems which is great.

RCDAD

speaking of change, i was seeing old posts about the wheel nuts coming loose, mine came with the nuts serated on one side. but i have a question.....i saw a post by you and i cant find it now but you mentioned the clutch was better now. i bought a 8000 clutch should i change it or hold on to it till i need it?

The clutches are fine but your new one with the 8k spring will make a nice improvement in take off. I'd switch it and save the stocker for a spare.

changing on my 5b and km not a problem but on the mt looks a little scary with the gear drive!

Removing the engine is probably easier than you think.

As memory serves: Remove Pipe, Remove Carb, remove T/B arm, loosen grub screw on 'D' shaft....(cover carb hole and exhaust hole with some painters tape)

Then remove 3 chassis screws on gear plate and 2 chassis screws on fan shroud, engine should pull right out...

Remove 3 gear plate screws with 5mm allen and there's your clutch.

took awhile but i got it, it was harder to get the clutch shoes together with the spring then installing it! LOL! but wondering do the gears need a little grease on them?
