URGENT - Life batteries in DX3S

Thinking about going to jaycar today and buying 4x AA life batteries. 1.5 volts, wondering if these will work in my DX3S or will it cause any problems? Nothing I can think of as same voltage as alkaline.

don't worry, just found out these batteries are not rechargeable so no good for me.

Sohan,I use the VAPEX 2900 mAh batteries.They are spot on and don't cost the earth.

sperera i have dx3r which needs only 4 bats ,i have to use 1.5 volts batteries because if i use the rechargeable 1.2v batteries on the dx3r, i cant get no more than 5.8v pushing 5.9 if im lucky
Also i noticed a considerable difference when i use the normal batteries the charge lasts longer , in place of the rechargeable set up.
I'm not sure who many batteries you need but if your looking to get you volts up then try just normal bats.
