I send all kinds of parcels state side . These parcels usually take the longest routes in the states but still get to my customers in like 5 days . I am talking 5 thousand extra of miles here . However if I am awaiting a package from the states it takes like 3 to 4 weeks no matter what service level. What gives ? even items I get from china take less time . I thought ups was bad but this is ridiculous .

I'm not sure on outgoing from the US. I do know my incoming orders take 2-3weeks just to clear customs.

yea i order alot of stuff direct from china, and i've had just simple electronics components get held up by customs for the longest 4 weeks, check shipping day after day just get "pending customs release." i know its a pain. then i ship parts out and they are there in about a week. no matter where, back to china, england. i sware there's someone that must check every single package sometimes.

I think they do. I have never received a package that has not been opened and re-taped.

They are checking for counterfeit goods, I think a literal poop storm is coming in that regards.

My uncle works for USPS, there is tons of variables why packages from and to Canada take a long time...one variable is customs they pretty much take the longest, the next is how its getting shipped (ground or air)...Canada is a big stickler about illegal substance going through there postal service (bigger than the USPS)

i think all postal services are brilliant!! i know some can be slow, but hell it beats catching a plane to go pick your parts up?

and for the price of postage, compaired to plane tickets, i think the waiting time is a good trade off

Yep. Just like the 5745's I sent. Only it vanished when it left Phoenix. USPS tracking system isn't really tracking, though. Sometimes the "tracking" info doesn't get updated until the package arrives at it's destination.
