Interesting selection Vass.
I re-read your 'clue' before I realised ....
150+ mph in the 1950s was pretty decent!!
Did Mercedes play with the cars the way Jag did with the E-Type - that's the question - higher compression engine, higher tyre pressures - less drag, etc.

Mercedes isnt my selection, Al, sorry.:(

'Young guys like us' was a clue? Ferrari 250 GTO, Jag D-/E-Type.
Else ... - that will be nice.......

Give us a clue Vass!!

Al.

If I want a Ferrari, yes, 250 GTO is ok, but no.

About Jag, yes the e- type could be but not.

Pagani Zonda, never.

Im 50 years old, Al and there is only one car of my childhood.

Tell you what Vass, if you are doing a Miura IT IS LOW!!!!

I went into a showroom once, in Cheshire (Footballers' Central shall be call it) for Classic Cars.
There were my 2 favourite classics: Lambo Miura and Ferrari 365 GTB/4 (Daytona).

The Daytona's low, but comfortable-ish.
The Miura's roof was halfway up the door window of the Ferrari!!
