Was surfing this AM and found a shop in Florida that mods a Wabro-wt 257. says they enlarge the rear bore to 15.25mm, front to 19.36mm, enlarge the center bore several mm also. i am guessing they install a larger butterfly plate also. This carb has no primer bulb- or a choke either. The fuel screws are long- looks like they would interfere with the roll cage on a XB. I looked at DDM -s site, found a CY marine engine with this carb, Has anyone out there ever ran this carb on a truck-car? It costs $89.00- ouch! I will go to Wabro this evening and eyeball an exploded diagram.
 
You'll gain some power with the 257. But like you said, you'll lose the primer bulb and the choke. You could install an in-line primer bulb, which will make starting easier.
