look like it works! do not spray carb cleaner in these carbs. even with all the rubber parts removed- there are parts behind the little brass plugs that carb cleaner will destroy.---- enjoy the reading.

me mr know it all? not even!

There are members here that know FAR more than me. - just trying to help- High pressure air out of most compressors is filthy. If you have no source of compressed air- buy this @ wal-mart to clean the carb- it is harmless to the parts.- CRC elecronic cleaner @ the automotive area. A safe cleaner to soak really neglected carbs is-- a quart of Denatured Alcohol. - The part on the carbs we use that takes a real hammering is the fuel needle.- this is under the air purge bulb.- As this viton coated needle tip wears, the fuel level in the bulb will go higher- this means rich.- The W shaped tool is nice- but for those on a beer buget- do this- on the end of the needle lever with the spring under it- look closely @ the 2 raised edges on the carb casting - this is very close to the mentioned lever end-You just need a tiny strait edge- a razor blade will work- set the edge of the blade across the 2 raised castings next to the needle lever- there should be zero gap between the razor blade and the end of the metering lever end that has the spring underneath.-A small gap will lower the amount of fuel in the primer -air purge bulb.- hope this helps to further your enjoyment of 1/5th scale----

I've rebuilt several carbs using that manual. Good stuff. I also have a service manual that's specific to the WT series carbs. I usually set the metering lever to .065" below the carb case. I just lay a straightedge across the case, above the lever and measure the gap with a digital caliper.

yea, thats sorta what i was thinking too- so, the small gap takes into account the play in the metering lever? - My 990s seen to run a little cleaner in the midrange revs with a slightly lowered primer bulb setting. a little bit lower than the 3/4 full factory set.
