As I wrote in the topic, i want my new red metalic fg body darker an less see through! It has maybe 6-7 layer of red metalic and it is absolutely dry, paintet many weeks ago. Could I back it with black and it wont make it brown?

I also see this as a rescue to fix my attempt at tinting the windows, it didn't come out very nice, and I see small black spots on the inside. I did to many layers on the tinting, so it is no way back making it see through, so I'm going to make it all black.

don't USE BLACK!!!!

Mine was supposed to be cherry red but stupid me didn't read NOT to use black....

try some silver. silver would probly look the best and keep the metalic look. Do a test patch somewhere thats not obvious or you could spray it on some plastic wrap and hold up tight against the body once its dry to see the effect you will get.

I think you should do a light even coat of silver, allow it to dry completly. Now mask off some flames (decals would be easiest) and spray your whole body silver. now unmask the flames and back entire job with white for ghost flames look. If you do this can I see some pics, lol. Good luck.

I'm grateful for the answers, but sometimes I wonder if people just read the topic ;)
I painted this body weeks ago, and it was in first thought of as done.
But it turned out a bit light red, and I messed up my window tint a bit, thats the two reasons I wanted to back it with black :):)

ok

If you are reffering to me. I did read your topic and was just trying to help you enhance your paint job. I think silver would work better than black (TO BACK YOUR EXISTING DRY PAINT JOB). I had the same situation happen to me 2 years ago. After My body was all painted I took it outside in the sun and did not like how the body was somewhat transparent.

I did the technique I told you (after paint was done and dry) but added a flake in one coat for sparkle in just ghosted sections. I believe a that patch of silver or if it is that important black, could be sprayed on some cellophane allowed to dry and then held inside the body to see how it looks. I am sorry if I offended you somehow and good luck what ever you do. I was just trying to help:(

I agree with the above guy, I will use a silver back coat after everything has dried for a while rather than black. It darkens up the paint a tad by making it less see through. Black I always found changes the paint color even when dry a bit not because it bleeds the paint but because areas you may have sprayed thinner will get much darker. I use fascolor so thats just my experience

No, no, no :) Something translated wrong in writing here I think :)
I'm not offended in any means :) And it wasn't directly at you!

I'm redoing the windows by hand with black paint and a brush
and silver backing after that! Thanks for your advises :D
