There's a local guy here in Houston making parts for the Baja. He's made some Baja shocks that are pretty beefy. I've seen em first hand and they are impressive at first glance. They should fit the Rampage if I can get him to put 5mm balls in instead of the Baja 4mm's. I'm going to meet him at the LHS tommorrow and see what he says.


Also, please note, DO NOT BOTHER TO BUY THESE YET! A couple of local guys here are bashing away at them and working the kinks out. They have alot of revisions to go. Hopefully I can get a Rampage set made for testing. They got a 1/4" shaft on em so they should hold up well. I'll keep you guys posted on whether or not these will be a viable option for us. Right now, the price is too high but supposedly it will be lowered. The guy who manufacturers these is pretty open to input and has made alot of changes so far. Hopfully we can get something worth a dam for us Rampage guys. Anyways, take a look at the pics on the fleabay posting.

$425.00 retail for the Baja stuff-OUCH!!!!! Not to get off topic too much, but did Phatdad give up on making Shock shafts kits?
 
They're for sale down at the LHS for $269 right now. He's supposed to be lowering the price to be competative with the RC4wd set. I don't know when though.
 
they say for HPI so i guess they are not. all hpi ones i ve seen are with plastic bits not full alloy.
 
Theres a huge thread on these on HBF. They eveidently suck from what I can tell, bent shafts ,bent retainers etc etc. They are still in the developmental stage though.

Ya I followed that for awhile. I know Winn420 and talked to him about the shocks. He said he bent the shaft due to a suspension arm breakage. He said he ran the car around while dragging the arm and saw in the video that the shock took all the stress I guess. Anyways, I'm not going to chime in on the HBF forum since I don't support anything Baja anymore.

I closed that thread. Its a joke for right now. Unless you want to pay good money to do his testing, that should have been done before he started selling them.
 
And Phatdad gave up on them. He is making too many baja parts to stop, and I can't afford a large enough run to sway his machine shop my way.
