I was running truck and lost steering right servo turned all the way and wouldn't turn back left side seemed ok but I shut down truck and brought into my apartment and now steering is working with no problems? also I am thinking of mounting battery on mounts in front so have easier access to charge are there any issues in doing that ?

Check your servo horn, it could be stripped. Was the battery fully charged?

As long as it doesn't interfere with anything like the center dogbone or the steering rack, it'll be fine.

One of my stock servos did the exact same thing. I put in Hitec servos afterwards. I know there was someone on here that was able to fix his stock servo. There was just a loose wire in it that needed re-soldered

I have even picked up truck and dropped it down on floor and servo is still working doesn't make sense except loose wire like you say .i'll just have to wait till not raining and run it see if happens again. I have question but didn't want start another thread I lost my antenna tube bought a traxxas one how long should tube be on a mt ???
