Was out running today hitting some big jumps. All of a sudden I only have front wheel drive. I knew what it was before I ripped apart the rear end. Yep, broke a tempered cup. Not a big deal since these have a few gallons on them and I was really dropping from a nice altitude (8-12 feet) depending on how I hit the face of the jump. Nice thing? I can replace one of these and have it reassembled in about 20 minutes.

I havn't gotten around to ordering those drive cup rings yet from CAT5. We need to find a ginea pig... cough... Moo... cough ;) and see how well they save cups.

I haven't broken any since I tempered mine, I am running the small pins-the original ones, only problem I have is the A/B gears don't last. You are running the ones from the upgrade kit? You tempered them yourself?

Yep, larger holes and pins. I am not surprized that one broke after the jumps I was taking. Something had to give and I thought it would be a shock shaft end. I tempered them and this is the first failure after so much running. This was the first set of cups I tempered so maybe a tad more is needed. All in all I am satisfied that they held up so well. The originals wouldn't last 1/4 tank and these have over 2 gallons on them. I didn't want to run the smaller pins because if they break there is too much a chance of the pieces of the pins taking gears with them. At least when the shaft breaks the pieces stay in place and so far haven't caused any other damage.
