hi folks,i have fininshed building my buggy its a mutilator with all the necessary parts changed ie marder tank, marder shocks, metal gears etc now i need some radio gear, the only problem is im hopeless with electrics,i need something cheap ish on 2.4ghz and the simplest thing to use/set up in the world,i previoustly had a spektrum dx3 and i just couldnt get the hang of it lol

I had a DX3 when they first came out and only reason I changed is I race and need more features. Most important and mandatory on a 25 pound large scale is a remote kill switch and I will not run with out one as it is a BIG liability not counting the damage to your RC vehicle! So what every you get make sure it is compatible with a remote kill switch. Kent of Killer RC that makes great kill switch and other items has a radio compatibility chart on his web site.

I do not know from experience but some say the Airtronics MX-3 Sport 3Ch 2.4GHz FHSS2 and Easy Pay Futaba 3PL 3-Channel 2.4GHz FHSS are pretty good but make sure they are compatible with a kill switch.

to be honest im not to bothered about my car i just don't want it hitting anybody if it does runaway, how will i know if the kill switch will be compatible with my radio gear??

Yes the W3 is supposed to be a decent reliable set from what Ive heard and JE Spares who are selling it are an excellent company to deal with. Here is the direct link to their webpage......

cheers mate,do you know if the w3 will work with the killer bee??

I have used the earlier W3 to what you have bought for the last 2 years and have found it a good TX, i too have the Killer bee V1 and works fine..

The K Bee is easy to set up, i take it you know it needs to be connected to the 2 prongs on the coil (cut off switch), i made my own but Killer rc does sell the kit for it..oops just read you got the 3 kit, sorted then.

any updates?
interesting debate between the two posted $$ friendly radios.
What is the gain with the deep jump goin with a dx3?

I just puschased a futaba 4pks but i had a flysky gt3b b4 that and i must say what a great radio set, it never missed a beat i could drive my baja out of sight and never once lost signal lol for $65us i think its the best cheap radio on the market;)

do you still have the flysky? I cant drop $400 on a radio honestly. not now at least. I have to figure out how to tighten up the brake on my baja, when I engauge it, it is acting like full stop from the controller is maybe 30% application on the truck.

the flysky gt3b can run a kill switch i do believe, which I need to buy also.
