Going through the same dilemma and I was also thinking about upgrading a 5B SS kit to 5T, since I also want to use my own radio and building a kit is fun...so you guys did the math and it's not worth it? I mean I could always try and sell the 5T radio on ebay or something and get some bucks back I guess?
 
its alot cheaper doing the converion than buying a T.
for me it would mean selling my mean green build baja, and taking a HUGE LOSS as well.

for me its FAR cheaper to convert.
 
i went to 5th scale because of 5t only.but when i saw how much 5th scales are there i also got confused on which one to buy.i still end up with 5t since its the main reason im going 5th scale.im pretty sure that hpi 5b or 5t caught your attention thats y u thot of trying the 5th scales.one thing i learned that mcd and FG brands have expensive parts than hpi here in U.S and canada.go for the hpi brand youll never go wrong.
 
i got a used Baja5B off E-Bay it was like new ,,, now its almost all purple Alum parts and a custom painted body ,,, its wild running it on grass , pavement and snow i use it for fun not raceing ,, but now my $500 used Baja5b i have over $1000-$1200 in it with all the upgreads :2guns:

i did alot of Alum bec in the cold plastic brakes ez in winter running :blush:

I know your not talking directly to me but,
They did not exist when I got into 5th scale. I got it cause I love them all.:) You will see, satisfaction is good for a while then you need a different experience. A lot like dating.:lol:

Timmahh is going to hate this, but there are also the HPI clones too! A lot cheaper to get into, but with any of them, they will need upgrades too. I have never owned a clone so I have no opinion of them, I just mentioned it as an option...

well for me i went with the 5t coz like i said its the one that i like and i set my budget only up to 1200.anything more than that i wont buy.like the mcd and fg most of them are arr and u spend around that price.if price is not an issue with you,you really have a lot of choices..from mcd,fg,hpi and redcat u got a variety of good choices.goodluck..
