Hi,

I am new to the RC Scene and just bought the 1/5 Exceed Barca 30cc gas power buggy from Nitrorcx and as wondering who has this car and what type of engine does it have? Trying to buy spare parts such as spark plugs, gears, air filter, and maybe a exhaust upgrade etc for the car before I get it.

Thank You

They have a 'Fuelie' sticker on them which means they are a CY engine (assuming its genuine and not 'just' a sticker!).

Spark plugs are NGK CMR7H
Gears, not sure what will fit
Best air filter is probably the stock HPI filter and get an outerwares cover for it
Exhaust, the car is similar to the HPI baja but not sure whether the they will fit

It will probably have a cheap carb on it so a Walbro 668 carb would be beneficial. It would also be worthwhile upgrading the radio gear and servos as the RTR stuff can be problematic and they are not usually compatible with a remote killswitch such as the killer bee.

Its also worth making sure the screws are all tight before you take it out!!

Thank You sir for the help:) Buying the parts now.

This model has a fail safe so it should be fine for now.

Read some of the other threads on the subject of runaways.
A failsafe is fine if the battery is connected. You set the safety default at full brakes (some add steering but you never know where 'that tree' is). This is great provided the battery is connected.
If you lose control, the battery is disconnected and for some reason its at full throttle .... its gone! This is where a remote kill switch will kill the engine instantly. It won't touch the brakes, so it may take a while to stop, but its an added safety many prefer to have.

I had a run away before I got my killer bee (it was the reason I then bought a killer bee!). The cause of it was the screw came out of the servo horn, it vibrated off the shaft and jammed the throttle wide open........my car shot off into a massive rock and gave it a big kiss hello!!

A fail safe wont stop this as it relies on there being battery power and the servo being operational. The remote kill switch will kill the engine on loss of signal, loss of battery power to either tx or rx or can be activated manually via the 3rd channel on the handset.

Well if you put it that way, then hell yeah I am getting a kill switch! Plus I cancelled my barca from Nitrorcx and bought a HPI baja 5B 2.0 from largescalerc.com
