i just picked up an fg touring car as a rolling chassis, im looking for some info on what i should put in it for a motor. im looking for something to get me going, nothing exotic, and i don't want to break the bank. i do however want a decent reliable engine. should i be looking at a 23cc or 26cc???

im new to large scale but have been racing nitro touring cars for years.

+1 Voo2doo.

Although the 26 might be tempting due to it being bigger, the 23 will give you more RPM and that is what you want in a touring car.

thats what i was thinking

i need to get motor mounts, ive been informed that duratrax firehammer mounts work, however i see duratrax makes a different mount set for the firehammer and firehammer mt. the only difference i see is the mt has one aluminum mount. anyone know if there is any difference as far as bolting up goes??? im a sucker for some bling, so if the mt mount is infact the same, i may aswell order that.

Z240 4 bolt. 220ish bucks. if youwant some more power, get the ESP modded one for 400ish.

i ended up getting a brand new hpi fuelie 26 (cy26rc if im not mistaken) off e-bay for $80. i know its not ideal, but it was cheap and spur of the moment (bought it just before the auction ended). it'll get me going, i may just need to gear it a bit steeper.

As to engine mounts...both mounts are different...from on/road vs off road....
the main difference is the large engine mount...for the location of the lay shaft...
there is about 2 to 3 mm ...which the lay shaft is out more from the clutch housing....
so makes it harder to get the gear mesh correct.......If you use Firehammer gears..
then use firehammer...If you use Fg Gears the use Fg....also the gears are different
in teeth count as well as dia.......Just my thoiughts here....Slawhammer
PS..the 26 cc engine will work fine for the touring car....
