There is a lot of talk on here about engine hp and tuned engines running at up to 5 or 6hp. What do the standard 23/24/26/27 zens & cy's run at? I know you can gain a bit by running a tuned pipe but knowing the actual engine output would be useful. Any ideas?? The gains from the pipes would also be useful.
I don't have a clue what mine is running at so would find this very interesting!

Thanks!!

ill start off by saying that we don't race dyno sheets, we race cars. knowing your horsepower is really irelivent in the grand scheme of things, unless your an engine or pipe builder.

you can find the specs for most stock zenoah and cy engines on any of the sites that sell them, and some tuned pipe manufacturers list expected power gains. as for modded motors, unless the motor has a dyno sheet with it there is no way of knowing what its at.

+1 to Sharkey.

All I know is the stock G27RC that runs in my V4 is rated by Zenoah at 3hp @ 14,000 rpm and with the Samba 4 power it's reputed to release a bit extra taking it to circa 4hp. CY engines are rated as very similar to Zen engines.

I emailed CC racing asking about his prices for tuned engines and the following is his response........

Jon,

You have a couple of options. We can modify the engine you have or build you a new one. If you want to send me the engine you have to be modified it is $335 if nothing is wrong with it. Any additional parts that are needed will be a extra. I can tell you that it will automatically need a ring and a carb kit. The turnaround time is usually 2 to 2-1/2 weeks. I do not give out dyno sheets with the engines as this is something that I have learned that causes nothing but problems. I am not sure about the pipe that you are using as we have no experience with it. The pipes we use on our buggies is the Victory pipes and they work really well.
