Im looking to buy a new motor for my xb, I have a budget of $500 bones. looking for others in-put on the best buck motor. Currently im running the factory 30cc hy with some mod bolt on's. If this helps i've installed a jet-pro pipe, gbt intake, cone style air filter w/ velo stack, mt trans-plate w/ xt gears in this order 35,25,25,25. Per ddm the 27.2cc w/ port&polish and +2mm crank rod is the one to buy. Does anyone understand what stuff crank means? Im changing motors beacuse i want a 4 bolt head/cyl set-up. im worried about blowing my current 2 bolt tring to get more power out of it.

A stuffed is when the crank is filled in with a plastic so that it is full circle. It is done to reduced case volume. Then youve got longrods. A longrod has nothing to do with stroke. The rod is longer, this reduces rod angle and helps the engine run smother.

I run an OBR FMLR 27.2 in my XB and love it.

The xb is a light car. 25 pounds. I favor the Cy F-270. 4 bolt, This is a +2mm rod engine- Ada manafold. Wt 990, 3/4" velocity stack, jet pro rear mount. This engine rocks. On a light car, with correct gearing, It will hang with any motor. Thing is , You can buy pull off top ends for 30 bucks. I have 4. If i smoke a engine? no biggie- just rebuild for next to nothing.

A 27.2 would be perfect for the XB. A stuffed crank is a crank that has been filled with plastic filler. This reduces the volume in the crank case, which increases pressure. The increased pressure improves bottom end power. I personally don't run them. I've seen the plastic filler fall off and destroy engines.

Here's what a stuffed crank looks like compared to a stock crank...

Does that mean I should take the stuff out when I rebuild my engine again? Is that a good idea? I don't know if I should do that because maybe OBR put the stuff there for a reason :D

Up to you, dude. I don't run them, but if you've had good results with it, then stick with it. Also, another reason why I don't run them, they tend to starve the crank bearings of oil. There's a mod out there that will help with this, but it requires drilling a hole in the crank case.

Lets just say if I take my engine apart right now and take the stuff out.... put everything back together... will my engine operate differently? Will it blow up? :D Is my question :D

You'd have to buy a new crank. They remove some metal from the crank, before they stuff it. And yes, there will be a difference in performance.

So you mean that some mod was done onto the crank before they added the stuff? When you say performance difference.... will I gain or lose if I even replace my crank with no stuff?

Mine rocks I would not mess with it. poop happens but that doesn't mean it will.
yea I know... but I'm just trying to expand my mind :D that's all... that's why I was asking Deluge and you about that rack :D

Nothing wrong with that, dude. When I first got into the hobby, I was a sponge. Soaked up every bit of knowledge they'd share.
