Hi guys, can somebody help me with servo choice, I have a FG Baja and need the two servos, what is a digitial servo ? what torque would you recommend for the servos ? I know one is a large one for steering but thats about it ! Cheers ! :)

digital servo is a computerized servo, can be programmed to some extent. they eat more juice but not too much more. but are very precise and stable as far as function goes over more traditional and long time used analog servo, which just use frequencies and simple stuff to get the information on what to do.

Hitec 5745mg, 5755mg and the Multiplex Rhino are all great options for your rig. do you need one or two steering servos?

on T/B, using a standard size servo (smaller servo than used for steering) i prefer JRs over the rest, but again Hitec and Multiplex offer some great servos as well.

servos is one of those things youget what you pay for. you also have to take into consideration how you will be powering them. with some of the servos being Lipo compatible, you can easily over purchase now on servos in certain instances.

im guessing your in the UK? Cheers gave it away if you are. lol
Multiplex servos maybe a better option for you over there.

im using hitec on mine 2 for the steering seems to work better than when i just had the one multiplex jumbo but that broke so i brought 2 hitec ones seems ok nice steering control better than before and for the throttle i use a savox 20kg servo as im running front cable brakes and the tps layshaft hydro brake which needs a pull of @9kg its got titanium gears and has worked perfect so far but you do get what you pay for avoid tower pro i tried one of them it lasted 10 mins wasted money nearly cost me my whole car due to throttle sticking open

I would say , the Hitec 5745 for steering (or if it fits the HPI SFL10MG - mine has been great) And for throttle I think the ACE DS1015 is just awesome!!!
Just my opinion !!:clown:

I have a single 5745 hitec on steering, but since I have now added cable brakes it isn't quite as fast to respond as before (the cables provide extra resistance on the steering).

So if you don't intend on front cable brakes, one hitec would do, but if you want them, you may like to consider something with more oomph, or two hitecs on the steering.

I'm going for one 645mg on throttle/rear and one 645mg on front brakes, but I have not yet wired up the 2nd servo for the front cable brakes as I want to knock up a harness to bypass the receiver for servo power (bits are here waiting, I just need a spare evening. I know a Y-lead or two would do it, but I want it to be a bit neater with a voltage regulator as well).

i,ve just got the hitec 5745mg for the steering and a hitec 645mg for the brake/throttle, £75 for the 2.

Same here but with twin steering servos. FG was a used buy and all work fine with no problems in 12 mths of my ownership :cool2: I have cable brakes on the front & the 645mg servo seems to cope well enough with the extra loading.

i have jr 8417 for throttle and brake and running 3pdf radio jus wantin best steering setup for my machine .....thanks guys !!
