what should i look at when buying a used hpi baja 5b

hey there im going to be looking at a used baja 5b sometime this week the baja comes upgraded controller, pipe, clutch cover, extra clear body, shock covers, pull start cover, lots of extra plastic parts he is asking 1000 for it but will take 800 is this a good deal or not and what should i look at when looking over the baja

1. Where are you? PLEASE insert your location in the User CP.
2. Related to 1., 1000 WHAT? Mushrooms, Pounds, Pesos, USD?

If it's US$, it may be reasonably, but if you don't know the origin, then insist on seeing it running and being controlled.
If it's GBP, then it's way too expensive.

for asking 1000$ i would hope it has many upgrades on it eg, servos, arms, engine, few sets of tires, some alloy parts!!! iam from ontario and 500$ will get you a used baja stock . highly modified sell for 700-1200 but generally have $2000 invested

1000 sounds pretty rich for what you are describing, in us dollar terms. seems like the upgrades are ginger bread rather than the important stuff to "toughen" up the machine.
'ive seen a lot nice used ss' out there for 500 or so. look around patiently. it will save you some bucks
