What size is the shaft on the stock 980kv motor...

I want to get a better motor for my xbe, but I want something I can just bolt up to the stock motor mount, etc...

also where can I get new pinions and spur gears that work with the stock setup...

My 7075 rc motor mount don't fit no matter what I do or did and it raised my driveshafts up so much it was harmful...

the shaft size is 5mm

you can fix 4098 Leopard motor or mamba 2200 kv

but again 10 tooth is too much for such motors , better to get 8 tooth

Are you looking for more speed out of the stock motor ?. I think the max size you can fit is a 14T. I used a 13T before and that works. You can ask 7075rc for the pinions.

I wanna fit my 7075 rc motor package in, I have to relocate my reciever box and on/off switch and prolly the ESC... then I can fit the motor mount, I then have a 48t spur and 10t pinion...

:)

Since the 7075 mount angles the front driveshaft up intot the corner of the ESC you will have to move the ESC over a little. I cut the triangular wall out and moved the ESC toward the front of the servo. Be sure to use some fuel tubing in each drivecup to keep the front dogbone centered so it doesn't pop out. I also tossed the stock receiver box since it didn't fit my Futaba RX very well and upgraded to a waterproof Traxxas box.

Got any pics Demon ?

Would love to see it all assembled together to help me visualize it all...

I have installed the hitech 805 servo and upgraded the berings to stainless and axles carriers.

In the future I plan on a FighterCat ESC and 14.8 Lipos. I'll play with motors after that. I have T5 rims and tires so wheel adapers in 24mm is next. I'd like to look in to shaving weight soon as well. This will make the parts last longer. If the bearing go this time I will look at the 7075 axle carriers (bigger bearigns)! I buy SS bearings instead of what he offers.

I'm curious to know if the aluminum Redcat cariers and a good bearing will work. Please keep us posted.
