Does anyone have any idea what that was about - it's obviously not road cars and obviously not racing cars - no way could a splitter that size have any useful benefit more than it is a detriment to space, aesthetics, vehicle integrity and reliability!!

meet up and this isnt just in japan its very popular in the states
also but its not my cup of tea ...

Just feel sad that some poor bastard has to live next door to tasteless idiots like these!!
That money could've been spent on decent cars or RC .... or SOMETHING USEFUL that isn't quite so insulting to the eye and anyone with a tad of 'enthusiastic petrol' in the veins.

This isnt a VIP style meet... this is Bosozoku... veryyyy different... few odd vips in the parking lot. but the extreme stuff is boso.. and its a style thats meant to lookcrazy.. think it was initially a gang thing (im probably wrong on that) but the idea was to be as loud, garish and annoying as possible... japans normally so polite and quiet... this was the stuff of young yakuza gang members etc..
Once again to reiterate, my facts may not be precise but its something along those lines..

Some nice cars? A Cressida twice as long as it left the factory - looks like someone stuck the forks off a forklift on the front, then filled in the gaps with a bit of hardboard or something.

I suppose it takes all sorts.

don't get me wrong mate some were shocking and looked like they had crash in to halfords and added everything possible or b&q but the tamer looking old skool skylines are lush and i would have one tomorrow just without the 100 foot of pipe
 
That's just too wacky for my taste. Serves no practical function other than to make noise and make the biggest spoilers that have no function at all. Only benifit I see is custom paint. Just no my taste. Not into those custom cars with those huge wheels that make a car look like some wacky 4x4 either
