What a gooey mess to deal with. I like a locked center dif on a 4wd depending on the conditions and powerplant, but generally I like a dif to work.

I have a locker in my S10 Blazer, I wish someone would make one for the FG's!

With a locker it's both an open diff for around corners, but if I hammer on it, the locker kicks in and spins me right around in a circle... Yeee Haaw

Is that white silicone in the last pic to stop stones etc getting dragged under the diff casing?
Yes it is white silicone and that is exactly why I blobbed it on there, to keep out stones, but when a grub screw comes out of the layshaft gear and gets lodged in there the silicone traps it in there! Double edged sword I guess...
Yea dwarfy I was wondering the same? Good idea if it works! 
It does work quite well, it's a great idea too, but it isn't my idea, Bigger The Better posted that idea a couple years ago...

Gotta give credit where credit is due!

yup, till the clutches in the diff wear out, one tire spins up way too fast, the locking pawl locks in and blows the carrier to pieces. been there fixed that waaaay to many times.

fg makes a power lock diff, it acts like an open diff when you have an even load on the wheels and off throttle, when you turn a corner under load it ramps the against the clutch plates and acts like a strong limited slip. technokit also makes a locking diff, however they are hard to find and impossible to buy parts for.
