I got my truck and started taking it apart to check the diff and screws, Im happy I did because the diff was dry and is missing the oring that goes on the inside. With that being said I have to order a new one and cant drive until it gets here, so my question is what other stuff should I get and install before my first run that will be better in the long run? I already have a kill switch, but I am up for any advice. Thanks! :w00t:

Rebuild the shocks, 12 hole pistons in the rear and 3 hole pistons in the front. Fill the fronts with 30wt and the rears with 5 wt. Use the HPI Baja shock oil, not silicon used on smaller r/c cars. Another good shock upgrade is the Threshold Umbrella seals, eliminates pretty much all leaking (check DDM for them).

Is that a good setup for the 1000gt?

It should be a good starting point Cole. The T1000 GT is basically a KM buggy with different front/rear bumpers added, a truck body, taller/skinnier tires and the inner roll cage extensions (to support the truck body). If you stripped all the add ons off the buggy body would go right on.

You can also check the HPI section of this forum for what the Baja 5T guys are running, KM is carbon clones of the HPI stuff.
