Im thanking of getting Rampage mt5 v3 and i saw some forms that say you need some upgrades to make it better

Question is what kind of upgrades are they talking about

what are the problems with brand new truck

what's bulletproof?

in my research people recommend these upgrades usually.

servos

hpi air filter

radio with third channel to install a kill switch

performance muffler

maybe wheels and tires in which case you'll need hpi adapter hubs.

personally i try to keep my hobbies affordable so i have taken some advice and did some work before i ever drove it. it has been running pure stock and awesome. i have a couple plastic gears that i swap out to make it torquey or high speedy. but i drive it with the wheels on the ground. it weighs as much as a small microwave. i only launch if i have the money in my pocket to fix something.

all i did was locktite all the screws BEFORE i put gas in it. i even locktite my wheel nuts. reroute the wires from the servos. i wrapped them in plastic tubing and ran them so that a hot servo will not melt them.

i run fast and hard on alot of terrain. i just don't expect nitro style launches and avoid slamming 35 pounds into any curbs or whatever. and if i ran it for 30 minutes, i give it a ten minute rest to cool down. maybe thats why i have been lucky with my stock servos, knock on wood.

thats what i learned anyways but what do i know. i haven't owned a bulletproof rc yet.

Potato, thats a good informative post man. I disagree with one thing though, locktiting wheelnuts. I had a recent experience with some red locktite on my friends Rampage.....luckily im a big boy and got them broke loose. :D

yeah you can use that as an expression only when you run and don't break something, but when you do break something, one you either replace the part with something stronger,(only referring to pins, ect) or two you just replace the broke part, it's all in how you drive,lol....
