I have a rampage tt. It has the 30.5 kit, upgrade kit and ddm pipe and steel gears installed. I have the aluminum diff housing, baja fb wheels and 5b wheel extensions, dual servo kit in a box waiting to be installed. I also ordered the aluminum front knuckles but they are on backorder so it is just sitting there waiting on those knuckles. I bought it from an LHS that has treated me very well. That hobby shop is willing to take it back in on a trade, we haven't decided on a value yet. They have a really nice FG MT5 there that I want real bad. It has Samba pipe, magura hydraulic brakes, 2 speed and in very good shape. I am getting some really nice aluminum beadlocks with it and new bigfoot tires. The rims retail at $460 and the tires retail at 89.99 for 2. They want $1050 for the FG. Since there is a lot of snow here the 4x4 is nice. The parts are more readily available for the FG. I don't mind waiting 4-5 days for parts but when parts are always on backorder that is kind of a problem. What would you do? How much would you ask for the tt if you were going to trade it in? I have had it for 3 weeks now.

Dollars wise, I have 120 into the 30.5, 65 into steel gears, 65 into the aluminum diff holder, 35 into baja wheels, 25 for dual servo for steering (no servos yet). I have a couple spare steel 25 gears so about 40 in those, aluminum knuckles are $40, 5b hub extensions are 55, pull start outerwear was 20, new clutch shoes and 8k rpm spring was 20. It came with the side dom pipe and upgrade kit. A total of about $500 in extras. I traded in my 5b for it, got 650 for the 5b and paid 700 for the new TT. I could also trade the tt in for the fg then buy the tt back when I get all the money.

Wow, what a tough one. I would like one of each. :D
What would they let you trade in for the FGMT straight up? Then you could sell off the add on parts separately.
The FG alloy bead locks are nice but heavy. What brand are they? Not many users bash with alloy rims.
Would you get a set of standard rims too?
The other parts you should make sure the MT has is alloy gears, carrier, and motor mounts. If not maybe you could swap them the mounts for the extra parts for the tt.
What LHS?

HObby Warehouse is where I do a lot of business. The wheels are actually really light, I am finding out the brand now. They are so nice. They have never been mounted before. I get the stock wheels and tires also. I think the 2 speed gears on the MT are plastic, not 100% sure though. I could trade straight up if I didn't get the new rims I am sure. I think I may just buy the FG also. Wait till after tax returns and pay down my bills then I should be able to afford it. He said we can work something out so I have an rc to use this coming weekend.

Here are the wheels I am getting with the FG..

Alloy Monster Rim, Bead Locks Ref: CNR6232/0130.

I found them on Molzer Mowery Racing website. They are so sweet!

They are a real nice looking piece of billet. I think RC Car Kings also has a set of rims. You should call and see what they are selling them for. This will give you an idea about there price. I really would try to keep your 4wd and try to get the FG. They are two totally different beasts.:cool2:

Is the LHS the one in Richfield or is there one local to you?

i will give them a call indeed. i go to hobbywarehouse mostly, the one in richfied. its about 45 to 50 minutes away. do you know which ones rc car kings has in stock?

Unsure. I can tell you that any FG dealer can get any parts or model from MMR the same day if they really want the sale.;)
RCCK has a few at a time. Not always will any of them carry all models due to the cost of inventory. They do have a crap load of parts though.

MMR is selling buggies on ebay right now: FG Marder.
