hi there! im looking to get a 5th scale rc soon, and i have my eyes on 2 used ones. One being a hpi baja 5t for 750.00, and a redcat rampage mt with an upgraded engine, engine alone was 425 dollars, and hes selling it for 600.

now..i live near toronto canada, and i hear parts for both rc's would be kinda hard to get, more so for the redcat, but if you have to order parts for the baja online, then ill just go with the rampage. i don't know what it is but i like the monster truck look of it, and of course the 4 wheel drive. but lets hear ur input!!!!!! thanks!
 
Vancouver Hobbies sells Rampage parts.

I say if you like the MT look then the Rampage deal is an awsome one.
My MT is my favorite RC period.

The guys on redcatrampageforum.com will help you with any questions strait away...
 
ya i think ive been to that site, i just came here to ask, because i cant ask that question on the redcat forums, cuz clearly they wont be like, 5T ALL THE WAY!!!! BLOWS REDCATS OUT OF THE WATER! lol.
 
myself i would go for the 5t. either one you cant go wrong, however the ease of getting parts would make the 5t my choice. almost any hobby shop stocks some hpi parts, and any of those shops can get you replacement parts.
 
Gotta be a 'T' Over here in Britain the HPI parts are not the cheapest around and there are not so many on ebay compared to FG but in the States HPI parts are ten a penny,so spares wont be a problem.
If you look at the vids on Yootoob the way the HPI's handle are allot(my opinion) better than the Redcats.

Where do you live? Spare parts in the USA will be fine for both, but some other countries will have a problem with either.

I have 2 of both, and I like them for different things.

Frustrating isn't it, yet kind of nice !! :)

I am a fan of the 5T and often THINK I may have made a mistake getting the FG MT - great vehicle that that is - basically as the 5T is just SO chuckable.

price alone i would go with the redcat. i paid $650 for by baja and it was in great shape with alot of extra's. my buddy has a redcat mt and yes the bodies aren't the toughest but they do hold up and the truck is incredible. myself i love my baja but i'm saving for a redcat also. you can get parts very easy for both at vancouver hobbies or 5thscalecanada. price wise i would say the redcat is a fair deal but you can get a new one for $650-700.
 
Still time to change your mind - remember there's more to a truck than just the engine!
You could put one of them in a 5T then REALLY blast and not fall .... but don't let me sway your decision ... :D:D:lol::lol::lol::D:D
 
They are two separate performing models. One is 4wd and one is 2wd right. It would be hard to compare the two. I would recommend getting the one that you really like the most and saving for the other. You cannot just have one after you get your 1st anyhow. You will see. :D

you'll love either one. out of all the cars i have(and i have ALOT) i play with the baja the most but cause of my buddies rampage i said i'm going to get one of those to. then i'll just have to run one empty so i can run the other. but then i'll have to decide witch to run first. ouch my brain hurts.lol
