Hi guys ,

in the process of total rebuild, replacing the rear diff and holders to alloy, will marder diff holders fit monster truck?and what is the best diff to replace original?

many thanks guys

Hi westy77 if your looking for a set of raised alloy diff holders ive got the one from tps you can have them for a good price they are €62 excl sending
the raised diffholders were made so if you want you could use a sperdiff or locked one but the reason i got them was to run with my balldrive set so as i don't need them anymore because i have the 4wd version so they don't fit anymore let me know or if you have something to trade that ok to

cheers voo,

are marder diff holders thre same as monster truck?when u say lsd do u mean adjustable diff or standard?
what gains do u get out of an adjustable?

cheers

The Marder and MT are the same mate,an LSD is the adjustable up to 90% I think.I have one and you can tell the difference. You can corner faster and the is loads of traction.but other members use different set-ups so you might get more advice.

If you have the rasied holders you will have to change your layshaft gear if you cant get enough adjustment on the engine mounts (you have to go down a tooth, all depends on adjustment) You will also loose a few MM off your drive shaft length thats why Sickboy is offering you ball drives too which is a good deal but you will need the outdrives and axles. You will also loose 5mm (all depends on the height of the raisers/holders) off your chassis height lowering the car.
The good thing is that with raisers you don't have to cut your chassis to accept an LSD.If you look at my thread (LET THE BUILD BEGIN) in the MT section youu will see a picture of the chassis cut
hope it helps.

This is in no way to put you off Sickboys offer.Just advise.

I had none of these probs Voo. only moving engine forward and i was running dog bones + now i have gone up to 16 on lay from a 14......

I used the 4 plate adjustable fg diff and made my own 5mm risers from some aluminum plate and dremelled a 2mm groove in the chassis...used this set up with ball drives on my baja and it worked a treat...the 4plate diff works awesome and is true lsd...centrifugal force even at zero setting throws out the spider gears onto the friction pads and limits the slip... best fg has to offer ...

Cheers voo
