A bit of body work and wheels, the rest is the same.

FG moster truck,, stadium truck again, a bit of body work, extra shocks and a bit of lattice work on the side and different wheels.

All the basic bits i.e chassis and runnnig gear are all the same.

This question have been asked before on many other forums there is quite abit off difference but nothing major, some marders come with 23cc motors but the baja comes with a stocck 26cc motor. the body, rollcage, wheels are all diffrent apart ffrom that what mike has said there pretty much the same but a baja is alot lighter then the marder witch makes it faster and alot crazer as a basher, ive owned 2 before and they wheelie alot.

p/s newer marders come with 26cc motors know.

How can the fg baja be much lighter than the marder?

They're exactly the same car with a different shell and slightly different roll cage. The only way you'd make one or the other wheely more (If they're standard cars) is to change the gearing.

i didnt want to start an argument all i wanted to know was if i was to convert my marder to a baja waht parts would i need

I have a baja and from what I can see
front shock towers
tweaked cage
alloy front cage
wheels
body

front shock tower(baja has twin mount with plate across the top)

the roll cage is the same but has 2 locating stubs screwed into it to take the front alloy cage section and a side body mount point and a plastic plug protector over the top.

the body and wheels.. and you have a baja...simple

how the baja can be lighter up front is a strange one as the marder has one bit of plastic to hold the shocks and the baja has 3 an alloy cage too..
it must be down to gear ratios that FG ships them with.

I prefer the look of the baja until I seen a marder running the baja wheels and now I think I would be happy with either.

the front alloy cage is too weak for my liking as I have already broken 2 of them.

my opinion....wheelies are for motorcycles and bmx's...
i wanted mine to pull the biggest wheelies until i realised its alot better to be able to do 30mph with back end hanging wide and spraying mud over anyone within 15ft.
i used to do track days in my track car and soon learned that power doesn't matter on the track its down to the driver and most of all the handeling,
my beetle is 26cc with minimal mods but it thrashes the pants of my mates 29cc jetpro everything for the simple reason....it difficult to steer with no front wheels :)

the body is the main difference but the front control arms are not adjustable on the baja but on the marder they are

hi gaz, i was thinking of doing the same as i thought the marder was very old fasion looking mofo, i brought some fg baja rear wheels and it has a better top end and doesn't griproll as much, still has great grip!
as you know my marder wheelis all the time,as everyone is trying to make there marders wheely,im trying to stop mine,it started to bug me that when i want to do some top speed runs, the front comes up,usually slowing me down or sending it into a cartwheel.marders wheely real easy! they are quite short in comparison to other largescales .let me know how you get on with the conversion,if its easy to do, i will do it.
