Whats your opinion on shock valves

I found this instructable on making valves for shock dampeners and I was wondering if you guys would think it would make a positive difference in handling. And if it would work i sure the valve would be need to be scaled up in beefiness for 1/5 scale to im sure lol...

xray came up with a cool set of shock pistons to do this... standard shock pistons have a hole drilled through... these extra pistons had conical holes basically \/ so that the response was different for down travel than up travel. you could mount the piston either way. I would think this method preferable so none of the plastic baggy came loose inside
