wheel nut thread

guys

is there anyway to extend the length of the thread for the wheel nut on the rear wheels

bought some alloy spiders for a set a rear wheel which have rounded squares once fitted does not give much thread to do the nut up and if you make to tight the rear wheels don't move

Hi Chris,
A lot will depend on whether you're running dog-bones or ball drives.
It's more-or-less fixed with FG - check you've fitted the squares OK, with very limited play - but Elcon Models make/made (??) XL / XXL driveshafts onto which you can fit larger wheel squares.

Hi Chris,
Sorry if it's 'grannies and eggs', but 'we' normally mean the thickness of the square, not across it.
Across it should be 18mm, but you get different thicknesses, such as 9.5mm, 11.5mm, 14mm, 17mm ....

looks 9.5 to me the spider add extra 2mm which is why i loose the thread..mmm
